PaperBack or HardBound?
Paperback. No hardback available, at least in UK.
Unfortunately, the material of the cover is a little thin and I'm not sure how well this book will last. I would have preferred hardback.
Does this book have clear illustrations or photographs?
Yes, there are plenty of illustrations. I found some of them difficult to make out, however, when off-white or white fabrics and notions were photographed against an off-white background. The photo with clear elastic was also difficult to see (I was particularly interested in this as I had some problems with this step previously.) Other photos, where fabric was coloured, were very clear and helpful.
Would you recommend this book as a MUST HAVE?
Yes, I think so. This is one of two books I have which covers knits (the other is Sew U Home stretch) and I found it very helpful. I hadn't really sewn with knits previously though so I don't know how much help this book would be to those with experience in knits. I also understood for the first time what a coverstitch machine actually is! So, for me, very helpful indeed. I felt more able to tackle knits.
