Polyester Gabardine |
| Tips: |
Polyester garbardine has been around quite a while. It is used in much that same way as wool garbardine but is a fraction of the cost. One drawback is that it ravels terribly and seams must be finished with either a serger or pinking shears whether lined or unlined. Because it is polyester ,it is not nearly as comfortable to wear in warm weather as it's wool counterpart is. While it can withstand a lot of heat, care must be taken when pressing as melting could occur. On the other hand there is no need to worry about the shine that can result when working with wool gabardine. |
