Beautiful formal gown! Where was the wedding in the photos? I am intrigued by the columns and sculptures--looks like a nice setting for a wedding.

Ooh! This is truly elegant. Would make a wonderful wedding dress too. But your difficulties with sizing and getting it on probably come from using polyester (?), which isn't as stretchy, and adding a lining, which takes out a lot of stretch as well. Those 30s designs really require something very drapey, were meant for a silk or rayon. Now that you've got the pattern adjusted, try it in a plain silk charmeuse :-).
