Pattern Description:
Misses' and Men's Medieval Costumes - dresses, tunics, and capes Pattern Sizing:
S-XXXL Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Nope, but I only sewed the tunic in a solid color as a Barney Rubble costume. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Didn't bother with instructions as I only cut 2 pieces. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Gave me a simple sheath tunic to cut. As I neglected to get a chest measurement on hubby, I cut the largest size, knowing it would be too big, but figuring that it would be easy enough to take it. It turned out to be enormous. I probably took in 6-8 inches on both sides for a total of 12-16 inches reduction. Fabric Used:
Stash stretch faux suede. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
combined the tunic top and bottom and cut the front on the fold for a single piece front. Did the same for the back. Sewed the front and back together at the sides and cut all edges to look jagged. cut a triangular slit at the center front and threaded some suede cord through. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I'd sew it again for another sack-like costume for hubby. Conclusion:
Only sewed the tunic, but it worked for what I needed.
Here's my blog post with more photos of the Rubbles.
