My take on two makes of: Shelley pattern by Beverly Johnson, pink one is size 32E. The fit on this pink one is not ideal, however I must admit, I traced the wrong line on the front band piece. The straps look better than the green one but I thought I made them the same way. The green straps are bunching up while worn and are a bit uncomfortable. Again, however...on my attempt to fix some side wrinkling I cut into the back piece and so the straps set further apart on my back. The straps don't come off shoulder though.

This green one is better in fit. But still not ideal. This one is 32F, with correct lines traced! What is ideal to me? When the wires lay flush on the body and all flesh is contained in a pleasing look under a shirt. I've read on the ever informative internet, that I may never get wires to be flush in the middle on breast bone because of my shape--rib cage shape that is. I wear this one often! So it must be a partial success! If you look closely you will see skipped stitches on the topstitching on bottom cup. I also took two small darts on the side cup pieces. I altered this piece from the pink version but not enough. I made notes to alter it for version 3. Oh well.
A complaint I have on this pattern, where the straps attach to the top of the side bar piece, it doesn't seem to fit right. Perhaps its the sewist? I must admit...see I'm so honest...that I did attach these green straps wrong end to front. The pattern piece is tapered on one end and not on the other. The tapered end is to attach to elastic on back. Oh well. I still made it work.

Conclusion: This pattern gives great lift and just the right separation. As bras do, they need adjustments for the right fit.

Check your wire size- you really should be able to get a good fit. I went to Boob Camp a Skeptic & came back a Believer!

Thank you for your comments! FYI for those interested: Beverley now sells her patterns thru a US supplier sweetcupsbrasupply as well as her own shop in Canada, bramakerssupply.

Lovely bras and well done on your attempts to get them to fit, not an easy task.

Wow, I had no idea that I could find a pattern for my cup size! I thought I would be doomed to beige and black for eternity because I'm a 32J. I need to check this out!

Congratulations on your beautiful bras! I am on version 6 of my Shelley. I have some odd fit issues I am trying t work out, since I'm sewing, I want to get that fit PERFECT! Even so, it is still the most comfortable and supportive bra I own - somewhere between a 34G and 32H.
