side wrapped with bangle side tank another view of tank with linen skirt front tank draped over shoulder knotted over purple dolman twist top belted over tiered skirt Pattern Description: Cardi wrap in two different front lengths and two sleeve styles. I also made the tank top with round almost U shape yoke band. I made the longer length cardi and added my own cuff version, basically a 3 inch folded band serged onto sleeve hem. Pattern Sizing: I used the XXS-M size range, I believe it goes to XL I cut out and sewed a S and I usually am a 12 and it fit perfectly, same with tank Fabric Used:
Well I splurged on this puppy. A wonderful poly rayon jersey from Vogue fabrics, $12 a yard, 2 and three quarter yards total. But I made the cardi the tank and two lower skirt panels for a knit dress, review coming soon. The reason for my choice is because it is the exact fabric in a Vogue wrap jacket…looking for #, can not find it now but it is made up in same cinnamon burnt sienna colour fabric. The drape looked great on envelope picture so I decided to use it. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, very much. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Very easy. Also thanks to the Sew a Long I gleaned some tips. Stitch down neckline around back of collar so it will stay nicely folded. Serge elastic to seam allowances. I used rotary cutter for clean finish. Some curling but it is OK. A MUCH nicer finish than my test pieces trying to edge hem or serge. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Love love this style . So comfy and easy to wear. I see pictures everywhere of this style in catalogues other versions ways to wrap I also love the tank. Simple but elegant Thank you so much Gorgeous Things for your review that clarifies MUCH easier way to just serge the finished band onto neckline. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Do try this pattern !! I will definitely make again, maybe the shorter version.
