| Pattern Description: Fitted/tapered dresses mid-knee length, pleated front neckline and darted back wirh zipper.
Pattern Sizing:6-8-10-12 or14-16-18-20. I cut a 12.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?yes, I think it does.
Were the instructions easy to follow?I didn't find any important instructions missing. I don't always follow their methods!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I really like the fitted cut of the dress as well as the pleated neckline. I probably would have made it an inch or two longer if I had measured the over all length of the dress. I am 5"4" and almost always shorten dresses and skirts. This pattern was plenty short! I also like the dart in the sleeve, makes the sleeve fit nicely.
Fabric Used:This was a very inexpensive poly knit from Wal Mart ( we don't have any fabric stores in the area, so I buy on line or when I am out of town or dear old Wal Mart!) It is a mid weight with a little texture in a really great sage color.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:Made it straight off the pattern. I usually wear a 12, but always meaure the pattern pieces and sometimes add a little extra on the side seams just in case! I have a nice stretch stitch on my Elna that I used for the main seams and hemmed the sleeves and dress hem on my Baby Lock Hemmer, which really does a nice job on knits. I used an invisable zipper. I also serged the seams, even though the knit won't fray, it looks neater finished.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes, I am going to use this pattern to make a holiday dress out of some great black knit I got from Fabric Mart. It has a lot of "sparkle" in it and I think it will work really well.
Conclusion: This is my first effort at joining the wonderful reviewers here. So be patient with me, I have been sewing forever, but reviewing is a new adventure!

Thanks for the review. P.S. The pooches are great, too! | | * * * | | Nan Kay | 11/5/09 | Yes, katlew03, sewing has changed, I'm never sure for the good or bad. The internet makes finding fabric much easier, but it helped do away with local fabric stores. At least the equipment has really improved, with sergers, hemmers, coverlocks etc. They just weren't available to the home sewer in the early days of my sewing. Oh the pups don't think a picture can be taken without them in it! Thanks for the kind comments! | | * * * | | RLL | 11/5/09 | Very attractive dress, you wear it well! | | * * * | | marec | 11/5/09 | Very nice dress...this pattern can be dressed up or used for business.
