| This is my wedding gown -- mostly self-drafted. The corset is a rather extreme variation of McCalls 4109 which I reviewed separately, and the details of the modifications I made to the pattern are listed in that review. The corset is trimmed in yellow rhinestones.
The skirt was entirely self-drafted, as I already had a hoop skirt I wanted to use and I am very tall -- I wanted a pickup skirt and couldn't find any patterns I liked so I made my own. This one consists of three front panels, all cut from the same pattern piece, and four back panels with an invisible zipper and small train.
This is still a work in progress as I will be making sleeves (most likely held on with elastic) as well.
The little butterflies come from Clear Cut Crafts and I haven't yet decided for certain whether I will put them on the dress or not, but they're pinned on for now to try out the look.

Pattern with more than 5 reviews! << Previous Review Next Review >> | Reader Comments | | Karine | 11/6/09 | Wow!!!! Absolutely gorgeous. | | * * * | | elily00 | 11/6/09 | This is soo beautiful! Fantastic job! I really regret not starting to sew sooner, because how amazing to make your own wedding dress!
Ok, don't hate me for this, because I would totally take it as a compliment, but it looks like Belle's gown! I've always wanted one just like hers, and you have done such a fabulous job on yours! Your work is beautiful and I can't wait to see your wedding pictures :) | | * * * | | harmony758 | 11/6/09 | This is incredible! You go girl! When's the wedding? | | * * * | | Beach Wolf | 11/7/09 | Breath-taking! wow. It does look like Belle's gown but not like a costume at all. It looks like what Belle would have if she were brought to life. Princesses always get the best couture! Truly a compliment as elily00 meant it as well. | | * * * | | NoraNora | 11/7/09 | When I looked at the pic all I could say was "OMG it's gorgeous"
I love the butterflies! | | * * * | | Pam C | 11/7/09 | Absolutely stunning - it takes one's breath away. I don't know your wedding plans but can only imagine your guests' eyes popping out of their heads when you make your appearance~ | | * * * | | SewLil | 11/7/09 | It looks beautiful! My little girls' eyes popped out of their heads when I showed it to them. | | * * * | | cindyann | 11/7/09 | Lovely!!! | | * * * | | Kayseri | 11/8/09 | This is gorgeous, I love the draping and the corset lacing. I'm not sold on the multi-colored butterflys. How about something similar in silver and/or diamante - this would highlight the diamantes in your corset? | | * * * | |
