Pattern Description: Inspired by Project Runway, misses coat or jacket in two lengths with front, collar and sleeve variations.

Pattern Sizing: 14 - 22

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? I think so..I just used a different color fabric .

Were the instructions easy to follow? This is a very easy pattern and the instructions are clear. However since there are so many variations on this pattern instruction I advise you to highlight the sections on the instructions that you will need.. It will make it easier to follow along

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The only problem that I had with this pattern was the collar. The instructions say to pin the right sides of the collar together and then stitch between the notches while easing upper collar to fit... I had a hard time doing this.. The upper collar pattern piece is a lot bigger then the under collar. I guess if I was using a stretch fabric this may have worked but my fabric had no stretch so I had to cut about 5/8 off the edges of the upper piece so I could make the pieces fit together. The collar turn out good...

Fabric Used:Corduroy

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:No changes

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?I love this jacket. Its a simple style with just enough flair on the sleeves to make it stylish. I like the feel of the corduroy it is warm and cozy. I recommended this pattern for all level of sewing. however for beginner you should be familiar with lining a jacket before trying this pattern.

Conclusion:

Buy this pattern for $16.95     Add to Bag Add to Bag

Frosty772 11/5/09I have this pattern and very much want to make this (even more now seeing yours!!) May I ask approx how many yards it took to make as they have the yardage split up like they do.

SandyinMO 11/6/09This was going to be my new coat this year, but I ended up with a McCalls's pattern whan they were on sale. I think I would have liked this one better.

elily00 11/12/09I love it! I love the color and that you used corduroy! I may have to try that in the future :) I just started making this pattern up myself, and am really enjoying it! It seems like the fit will be really nice. I also found the lack of clear "views" to be a little confusing. It requires a little extra time to sort out your thoughts and figure out where you're going. Great idea to highlight! Also, for Frosty772 - I used about 2 yds of self (45"), the pattern calls for 1.5 yds of 60". I was surprised at how little it took (I am also making a size 4, just to clarify)!
