| Pattern Description: Dress below mid knee with lined bodice and midriff, gathered front, flared skirt, back zipper and shoulder straps. I made dress D
Pattern Sizing: Size 18 (this is mainly to incorporate my bust)
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yep, it was exactly the same.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were really easy to follow!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the full skirt on this dress and the fitted waistband. I think it's really feminine and timeless.
Fabric Used: For this one I used cotton quilting fabric with Mexican ladies on it. I've made this dress 4 times and used cotton, satin and voile.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: As I have a really small waist compared to my bust and hips, I have had to alter the midriff at the zip and the shoulder straps needed to be shortened. On this one the quilting fabric that I used wasn't wide enough to make the skirt the full length, so I added a frill. If I make this dress again I will add the frill to it, I love the way it looks with that extra little bit of flounce on it!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I've sewn it four times already but i think there's still a few dresses left in it! I would reccommend this pattern to anyone. Depending on the fabric you chose it can be dressy or casual.
Conclusion:
This is probably the favourite pattern in my collection. It really works with my big bust and the full skirt flatters my hips. I get so may compliments when I wear one of my dresses made from this pattern.
