Thank you for this review. I searched back to find the one you mentioned with the detailed instructions, and plan to give it a try for the baby we are expecting. I didn't like the two methods I tried with my daughter (store bought one, without easy viewing, and a receiving blanket, which was awkward), but this one seems like it will work great!

I made one for myself and one for a friend this year when we had our babies. It was awesome! Thanks so much about the tip for heat sealing the edges of the boning. I didn't know to do that and it has separated and poked through the cotton over time. Now I will know how to easily correct that for future versions!
