The elastic with drawstring is a good idea. I think I need to do something like that with the skirts I make. It is hard to know how big/small to make it otherwise. I don't seem to see the grow tucks everyone is talking about though, but it gives me a good idea, presuming it is in the length?

The comments on grow tucks are for a previous garment made for the One Yard Challenge contest last year.I folded several horizontal tucks just above the hem line and stitched them vertically in several place around the skirt. The fabric was a plaid, so the folds created some visual interest and the stitching didn't show much. I edited that review for this contest's entry. Maybe I should just have written a new review instead.

Love the waistline variation, especially the contrast band.
