Pattern Description:
From the pattern website: "The Chloe dress is the perfect party dress! Chloe includes two versions. The Floor Length Chloe has a long full chiffon skirt. The Tea Length Chloe has a shorter fuller tulle and chiffon skirt. Both versions of Chloe are couture gowns that will be perfect for special occasions, tea parties, dress-up, and amazing pictures." Pattern Sizing:
6 months - 10 years Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes, other than I made it longer. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Fairly easy. Some details were in there that I didn't need, such as how to pin lining fabric to bodice shell fabric, and other instructions were a little vague i.e. the size and number of buttons is up to the maker. It wasn't problematic for me, and the packaging of the instructions in a full-color glossy booklet format is beautiful. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The bodice pattern is extremely simple, so no fussing with extra seams in a touchy fabric, and easy to measure for fit before cutting it out. The skirt pattern is cut to written description rather than having a pattern piece, which made it really easy to customize the sizing for the skirt. Fabric Used:
Crepe-back satin for bodice, bodice lining and sash; polyester lining for skirt lining, poly chiffon under tulle, and double layer of tulle for the outer skirt. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Lengthened skirt. Added thread belt loops for sash. Used fabrics that frayed, so had to hem two of the skirt layers. If I'd followed the fabric recommendations in the pattern, I could have avoided that, but I let my daughter fall in love with fabric that was more difficult to work with. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I probably won't make her another one right away, but since little girls wear tulle skirted dresses so beautifully, I can see making her a new one when she outgrows this one. It would be fun to play with layering different colored fabrics for the skirt. I would recommend this pattern to anyone looking for a simple dress with a big "wow" impact in the overall look. Conclusion:

What a gorgeous dress with the perfect skirt for pirouettes. Your beautiful daughter looks thrilled! I think she will wear it a lot even if there is no "special" occasion for it.
