Wow! This looks incredible. I'd seen that pattern but never thought much of it. With the fabric that you chose, however, it is put in a whole, new light. It looks great on you! (these blues work very well for you!)

Thanks Susan, the Color Me Beautiful has given me a whole new perspective on choosing my wardrobe colors and I am really glad that all this is working for me. Now I completely stay away from the colors which I know will not look good on me, no matter how gorgeous the fabric is. Even though the book tells me to stay way from prints close to my face, I still went ahead and madet this top from the fabric in my stash. After all we dont HAVE to follow all rules. As long as I know that the color will suit me, I will give it a go.

I think I actually bought that book years ago. My coloring has changed along with those years - -I think I'll look at it again.

Deepika, this top is beautiful! I too passed over this pattern, why? The blue is stunning on you and I love how beautifully the top blends with your jeans.

***blush*** you guys are too kind. All summer long I have been looking for some handkerchief linen. If only I could find some, this top would be lovely. You can see in the pattern photo one version is in handkerchief linen.

I agree with the other comments, that color looks great on you! Cute top too. I think I have a blouse that I made from this fabric, too! Is it a rayon from Jo-ann's? Just curious, I made the Kinenbi top out of my cut.

Yes Nanflan, that is a rayon print from Joann Fabrics. Its cheap and readily available. Rayon is one of my favorite fabrics. I just wish Joann has better prints and some solids even. I havent found any good source of Rayons yet. any ideas?

Add my admiration to everyone else's...what a fantastic look for you. I love this color on you and I think you have done for sales of this Burda pattern what Gigi does for KwikSew. Fantastic!

Another thought (yes - they come a little more slowly than they used to). Wouldn't this top look great with a matching skirt for a 2-piece dress?

Kudos, Deepika! You look terrific in yur new top! Guess I just might have to take this pattern out of its envelope--bought it early last spring, but never got around to it! LOL!!! I just love these reviews with pictures. Thanks for all your work on this website.

A cute top on some who's so cute. I think that every time I see your smiling face in your photos. Do you serge your rayon? I just bought a serger and am looking at how I can get my money's worth from it. Rayon has a bad habit of fraying.

Deepika, you look beautiful in your new top. The color is wonderful on you. I love the finished project and like so many others, it is one I would have passed on. Thanks for this site - it is wonderful source of information. I think the pattern companies should give you a percentage of sales you generate

Karla thanks for the idea. I am going to run down to Joanns tomorrow to see if they have any more of this fabric. Sherril No I dont have a serger. I just snipped the seam allowances to 1/4" and zigzagged over them using my overlock foot and they look very neat. Lori thanks for the nice comments and yes I hope the pattern companies would give me a percentage ;-) but for now I would be thrilled if they just linked to PR.com. so that more and more people could benefit from it.

I will definitely have to agree with everyone else. Great top, great color! I think I have that book somewhere in my collection. Time to drag it out and REALLY take a good look at it. That is a beautiful color for you!

Ditto Deepika to everything that has been said previously...iy is amazing to watch your progress in sewing. I enjoy reading your site...thank-you for your efforts! I like the idea of pairing a rayon skirt with your top to make an outfit...what pattern for the skirt do you plan to use?

Vicki, I am thinking of making a bias skirt from this pattern which Karla had gifted me almost a year ago! Burda 8894. I hope Joann has some more of this fabric.

Deepika, I don't know why the book steers you away from prints near your face--you look great in this top! The vibrant color is terrific on you, and the print looks stylish and youthful without being cheap and mall-like. You've really got a good eye for picking a pattern and making the most of it.

Hi Deepika! I write you using the autotranslator therefore I am sorry for my English. I write shortly about myself. To me 34 years, I was born and have grown in Russia in city of Moscow, and now I live in Israel as has married the Jew:o), but it(he) too before veins in Russia. I sew on myself since 15 years. The truth at me was a break this business, but now I have again decided to engage in this loved(liked) business. To me your tailored creations are very nice! And it that you sew recently. I have noted them from all set of sewing people when looked through a forum. Молодец! You have taste and accuracy in work at sewing. I am on the Russian forum, there too people communicate on a subject of sewing, but on our forum there is no opportunity крепить on the spot a photo. Good luck to you Deepika! Lusya

I just love the look of this top Deepika, have you or anyone made it in a fabric apart from rayon (hard to get here) and II love the drape of the neckline, so would like to hear how the neckline looked in another fabric.
