Pattern Description: Fitted, tapered or straight-legged jeans (below waist) have shaped waistband with hook/eye closure, carriers, front/back pockets, back yokes, and binding for front fly zipper closing. Topstitching and narrow hem
Pattern Sizing: I made a sz18 with adjustments
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes sort of.
Were the instructions easy to follow? They are fine.
Fabric Used: Stretch corduroy
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I used my pants block on it to adjust the crotch curves. I didn't realise how straight the legs were so tightened them on the thigh and made a slight flare on the calves. I also did an elastic adjustable waistband to help stop the waist stretching out.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes and Yes, I found that these needed a lot less adjustment that the Jalie 2908 jeans for me. Plus I like the 5 pockets and the back yoke.
Conclusion: I really like these jeans, well the top part anyway (the legs are a bit too straight for me and I will be flaring them more when I make them again). I did find them a bit short, I'm 5'6" and they are ok but if you are taller you may need to make them longer. Its a great pattern though and has the real classis jeans features.
I have more pics over at my blog

LynnG said... You did a very nice job on your jeans. I made these and like them as well. I also did the straight leg and I do like them, but like you, I think I will opt for a flare next time. I agree with adding to the length. I am 5'6" with long legs and had to add a few inches. Look forward to seeing the next pair. 1/21/13 10:09 AM
