| Pattern Description: Suit Yourself Shoulder bag and tote by StudioCherie *zip top *key pocket *cell phone pocket *large zippered pocket * 3 interior pockets * converts instantly from shoulder bag to tote * adjustable removable strap
Pattern Sizing: One size fits all
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes NOTE: the key pocket zipper is really NOT crooked, I think that is just the angle of the photo!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Love the instructions for inserting zippers, like the convertible shoulder bag or handbag style
Fabric Used: Cotton duck grape print exterior, padded vinyl lining
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: added extra pockets on the inside
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is the second one I've made and probably not the last
Conclusion: My BFF's birthday was recently - I won't give the number but it was a milestone one - and she was admiring the bag I made myself from this pattern. She said she especially liked it because occasionally she liked to stop on the way home from work and get a bottle of wine, and because she rides the subway carrying everything in rush hour could be a problem. The bag looked to her to be big enough to hold a wine bottle and could be carried over the shoulder or by the handle. Well I can take a hint so I made her this version for her birthday. For the lining I used a foam-padded vinyl (the lady at the store said it was usually used for a padded table top covering) and made the interior pockets extra deep so a wine bottle or two could be carried without breaking. I also added a velcro "strap" near the top on the inside to secure the neck of the bottle. Interior of Bag
This bag is an awesome pattern. When not carried by the handles it can be a shoulder bag (the strap is adjustable) with the top folded over so it's not so big, but still holds a LOT. There is a key pocket at the top (zippered) and an additional pocket accessed from the outside which is quite large and also has an interior cell phone pocket. Shoulder bag view with cell phone pocket
The bag is fully lined, has interior pockets on both sides, and is completely interfaced. I also interfaced the pocket that is accessible from the outside so it could stand up to some heavy use.
The pattern pieces are sent and downloaded along with the instructions. The instructions are clear, easy to follow, and have plenty of pictures. The method for inserting the zippers is SOOOO easy! I use the bag I made from this pattern every day. Best of all, my friend was thrilled and showed EVERYONE her bag at the party she threw for herself - at a local winery.

I like the idea of adding a velcro strap to secure the wine bottle. And the grapes in the fabric are the perfect pairing for how the bag will occasionally be used. Looks like a great pattern with all those options.
