Pattern Description: On Pinterest there was a curtain panel that was what I wanted and needed for my office window. I am tired of the same ole window coverings; venetian blinds, side draw drapes, pleated shades.... I loved the idea of not having the typical boring and ugly white drapery lining on the backside. Using decorative and fun buttons to incrementally open the drape is perfect for the location.

I made two panels but the rod length and the only location I had to take photos would only fit one panel. I couldn't photograph on the office window. The room is being painted right now.

I'm not much of a photographer. The back fabric and flowers are a much better color match then they photographed. Most of the smaller flowers are the back fabric color and the large flowers are less orange in real life. I used every setting on the camera. It just wont show the true colors!

The Pinterest my project is based on

Can button it up/over a little or alot

Were the instructions easy to follow? There were no instructions provided so yes they were easy. I had no trouble following my own instructions

Fabric Used: Light/medium weight cotton duck in a gorgeous blue red shade on the window glass side. And a fabulous floral print Home Dec cotton facing into the room. When it is buttoned upward and to the side they both show. By choosing thicker heavier fabrics, and since there are two layers, these drapes will help insulate against heat, cold and muffle noise. They also totally block the sun and give me total privacy after dark.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:Instead of putting two top to bottom vertical rows of buttons and having the drape panels incrementally go up, they button incrementally to the side. This works for my application.

There is a covered walkway outside with foot traffic. This way some natural outdoor light and fresh air can be let in and I can see out if I like but I can control the degree of privacy. Since I am sitting at a desk I don't need drapes open to the top of the window.

I also did not cut button holes along the bottom edges. I made one stretchy loop on the bottom right corner of one drape panel and bottom left of the second drape panel(not shown). It isn't noticable when buttoned or unbuttoned.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?Yes and YES.

Conclusion: I love the colors, so bright, happy and cheerful. The buttons are a fun, decorative, useful way to open drape panels. I am so in love with the floral print that I smile and admire it every time I look at it so I might not get much work done in the office!!!

Great basic idea for a window covering -- will definitely be filing this away for a few of the long & narrow windows in the house. Good Luck!
