| Pattern Description:
Straight legged trousers with side seam pockets, contour waistband and front fly facing. Front crease is sewn for extra definition. Pattern Sizing:
38-46 As I was using a woven without any stretch whatsoever, I decided to go up a size and sewed a 42 instead of my usual 40 with Burda. I also wanted to make sure I got a relaxed fit around the hip because of the side seam pockets. Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes, usual instructions for a pair of pants. I didn't follow the instructions for the side seam pockets nor the front fly facing, using alternative methods which I prefer instead. What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like that these pants are a real basic. And since I'm working on replacing classic black garments, this straight legged trousers was good. I also like the side seam pockets which work for my body since I do not have curvy hips. Fabric Used:
Wool and polyester blend with absolutely no stretch at all. Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I ended up taking in some fabric at the back for a flat butt and lengthened the crotch seam as best as I could. I thought I wouldn't have to add here as I had gone up a size, but it seems I'm taller in the rise than Burda caters for. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I like these trousers and because they are very basic I may sew them again. The legs are also nice and long, which I like. Conclusion:
A nice basic pattern, possibly runs just a little small. Hard to tell though, because if your fabric has any lycra in it it probably fits true to size chart.
After uploading the photos onto the computer I saw lots of wrinkles which hadn't been apparent when looking into the mirror at all. I don't think they fit as poorly as the photo suggests, but its made me aware that on this pattern I still have to deal with some fitting issues if I do decide to sew them again. |

Your trousers look very nice. My comment would be to pull up the side seams a bit and see if that doesn't eliminate some of the wrinkles. Your pattern link isn't working so I'm not able to see the pattern info.

Your trousers look great. I know what you mean about the wrinkles, but I am always unsure how to revise the pattern to eliminate the wrinkles. IF the pants are comfortable and you feel great wearing them then that is what is important.
