When you're going to a "Yes" concert, what do you wear? A groovy 70's jumpsuit!

Pattern Sizing: 4 and up. I like the small lower range so I can share it with my teens. I made a straight 8 without my usual grading and it fit well.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, except for my mods.

Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
1. Sews up quickly (even for slow ones like me).
2. Easy fit so it can work on many figure types without much alteration. Super comfy pj feel.
3. Can make it dressy or casual.
4. Pockets freak me out but these were easy to make.

No dislikes whatsoever. This is a great pattern!

Fabric Used: $1.99 per yard "marble" ITY from Fabricmart.com. Can't beat a 4 buck made-to-fit jumpsuit! I'm pattern matching/layout challenged so it's got some odd bits - it looks like I'm wearing lace underwear over the jumpsuit on the butt. I'm just going with it.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
1. I read the horror stories of Houdini-moves to get in and out. I did not want to wrestle with this in the ladies bathroom stalls, especially if I've had a couple of glasses of wine, so I ditched the back pattern and used the front on both sides. I added a spaghetti tie at the back neck and voila, easy on and off! I didn't interface the back to keep it drapey and open.

2. This is a high-waisted design with short bodice and long crotch. I shortened bodice by 1" instead of my usual 1.5".

3. Crotch seemed low until I belted it and then it worked. Might shorten 1/2" between pocket bottom and crotch next time as my drapey knit "grew" a bit.

4. Read about the gapey front so I pinched out 1/2" before cutting out. I guess that makes it a small bust adjustment. Used my ultra-soft Design Plus double sided tape to glue the facing down. Didn't mind a little gaping as I plan to wear a lace vneck cami under.

5. Extended and elasticized shoulders like chickenlips which made perfect gathers! I detest gathering the traditional way. Used 1/8" elastic.

6. In waist, inserted elastic into seam allowance instead of sewing it up.

7. Hemmed via steam-a-seam to give it some body, weight, and structure.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I can see making it again in an elegant black knit and instead of a casual spaghetti-tie back, using a gold chain that hangs down like jewelry. DD wants the strapless view in a woven floral.

Thanks for the awesome review... I bought this last year and haven't gotten around to sewing it up yet. Your alteration suggestions were really helpful. You look great!!
