This pattern is for knit dresses in two lengths with bodice variations. I made the maxi dress with the halter bodice. The pattern sizes are Misses 14-22 and I made it in the size 22.
My dress actually did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once I was done sewing with it.
And I was pleased with the results.
I've made this dress before with a different length and bodice and the instructions were easy to follow for both variations of the dress.
I particularly liked how easy the dresses came together and the different variations you can put together to make a maxi dress, gown or something fun and flirty.
The Fabric I Used: was a black and white Medium print houndstooth cotton knit I purchased last year. I used 4 1/2 yards to match the print.
Pattern alterations or any design changes I made: were I took and inch out the waist. To my surprise I had to change the kind of elastic in the back and cut it 4 inches shorter than required because my back is smaller than the rest of me. Go figure. So I used a two inch wide elastic (that was 4 inches shorter) to adjust the size difference and because this cotton tends to roll or curl.
I've used this pattern twice and I think Iwould sew it again. I definitely recommend it to others since it is an easy and fun pattern to use. My daughter even wants one. The first dress which I didn't review had the full bodice and the shorter skirt and it was made out of a heavy white cotton the I embellished around the front with gold trim.
In Conclusion: My houndstooth obsession is coming to play in this dress that I didn't think would work with this dress but it did. I've found that maxi dresses are great in this summer heat so you will be seeing more
