|Pattern Description: “MISSES’ JACKET, TOP, DRESS, SKIRT AND PANTS: Jacket has ties and inside button closure. Close-fitting top and dress have side zipper opening. Below waist skirt and pants have elastic waist.” I made View C, the dress.|
Pattern Sizing: 6-20 and I made a size 20.
The jacket and skirt looked just like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope. I was loving it.
The instructions were easy to follow. I've used this pattern before when I made a dress.
There's nothing particularly that I liked or disliked about the pattern. I picked it up not realizing that all of the pieces were for knit fabrics but it still worked.
The Fabric I Used: was 3.25 yds of yellow and white houndstooth double knit fabric.
The only design change I made was to make the ties longer and wider to simulate a fabric belt.
I wouldn't sew the suit pieces again but I might try the dress again. I do recommend this pattern to others even though it's out-of-print.
Conclusion: I've had this fabric for years to use with this particular pattern and sadly I didn't make the adjustments needed for my weight gain. I figured it would fit because the dress I made fit but I now have concluded that I made the dress out of a fabric that had more stretch than this double knit. OKay I have so much houdstooth here it ought to be a crime. LOL
