Semi-fitted top has elastic casing and gathered lower section. A: Lined upper section and self-fabric bow. B: Tucks. C,D: Stitched pleats. D: Self bow.
I made view C,D and lengthened it to a maxi dress.
Good sizing and fit on style C,D.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? For the top part - yes; for the dress part - no.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't follow them, but this is an easy rated pattern and the styles are basic.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This pattern is ideal for use with border print fabric as the lower sections are rectangular pieces. I placed the diagonal front surplice pattern pieces along one side of the turquoise border area. The opposite matching turquoise side was placed at the lower hem. Also it is a very relaxed and comfortable fit with the tucks at front and back shoulder seams creating more fullness in the bodice section.
This was a poly-lycra border print from FabricMartFabrics.com.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I tapered the upper skirt sides a bit to eliminate extra gathers at the waist area.
I lengthened the bodice about 1 inch to create more of a high waisted style.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I have a border print linen piece cut out for same top and I hope to sew it soon. It will be interesting to use a woven fabric for the second version. I do recommend it.
All three versions are very cute.
