Pattern Description: "This fresh striped dress is made from cotton single jersey. The short raglan sleeves and the pockets placed at a slight slant give it a light look. The pleats at the front and back necklines add a little fullness to the dress. There is also narrow elastic around the neckline." ~ From the Ottobre Magazine description.
Pattern Sizing: 128-170cm
I traced and cut a size 146 for K who wears an 8 in RTW. There are only 4 pieces for this pattern: the front, back, sleeves, and pocket.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes, except for the stripes
Were the instructions easy to follow?Everything went together extremely well. I followed the instructions exactly and had no problems. Everything with this dress is straightforward and nothing is complicated.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I was looking for an easy project and this was perfect. I liked the simplicity, the cute design, and the finished product.
I have nothing to dislike!
Fabric Used:Pattern calls for 1.09 yards I was able to use 1 yard and had a small chunk leftover. I think 3/4 yard would be perfect. The fabric I ordered back in Feb. from The Fabric Fairy. It is a dream to work with. A nice stable knit.
"Colorful Umbrellas Cotton Knit" 1 yard of 60" wide for $7.19
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I double hemmed neckline, sleeve hems, and bottom hem. I used my wonder tape to ensure no funky waviness would occur. The pleats I did backwards accidentally but no one should notice. K doesn't and that is all that matters to me!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? It took me 2 short hours to sew up and I love the results. This pattern is a winner in my book!
