Pattern Description: This is a paneled button front skirt, high-waisted. Fully lined.
Pattern Sizing:0-18. I cut 12 grading to 14 at waist.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes. but I made mine shorter due to fabric limitations.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are superb, Colette is always over the top on this.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I'm liking the high-waist fit. Also the pockets. The fit of Colette patterns is always good for me.
Challenging for buttons/ buttonholes-needs 10 here. My machine is not great for buttonholes--maybe time to upgrade. Nice way to feature attractive buttons, looks sophisticated. The finished garment even looks good from the inside.
Fabric Used: A wool woven in my stash from the remnant table. It looks like a linen weave but is wool, could be a blend. Hard finished like a gabardine and hard to press. Once it's pressed, it resists wrinkles. It is a pleasure to sew with wool, so forgiving. I splurged on some nice buttons from Sawyer Brook, Lava in Green. The buttons are really the design feature here. Interfacing with ProWeft Medium in charcoal.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None, except that I shortened the skirt.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I promised my daughter one.
Conclusion: This is a nice button-front, paneled high-waisted skirt. Superb instructions and well-drafted pattern. Not for the buttonhole-phobic.
