|Pattern Description: A cardigan pattern with long sleeves, v neckline, interfaced front band and front ruching.|
Pattern Sizing:34-. As other reviewers have noted, this pattern runs unusually small for Burda, who usually have consistent drafting. I made a size 38 for my size 34-36 daughter, and the cardigan is very snug fitting.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, allowing for my changes
Were the instructions easy to follow? I found the instructions succinct, but clear.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?I love the front ruching and the modern cut of this cardigan. I am very grateful for previous reviews that saved me from making an unusable, too small cardigan in the size I would usually pick.
Fabric Used:An unusual two layer knit of mystery fibre/s, probably poly/lycra. It is not terribly stretchy, which may have added to the sizing issue.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Fitting: one size larger, square shoulder adjustment and lengthen sleeves and body for my tall daughter. I had to move the ruching upwards as there seemed an excessive amount below the bust, which was not flattering.
Construction - I made the cardigan reversible by binding some seams, coverstitching others, and hand finishing the neck line and fronts. I added a rolled edge hem binding. I used double buttons fastened with elastic loops for a reversible closure.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes, I want one too! (This one is for my daughter)
Conclusion: A smart little cardigan with nice details. There are more photographs at this post on my blog
