Thanks, ladies. Danmar, those hems are machine-stitched. I serged the edges of the linen fabric and then pressed up 1.25 inches at the lower hem and 3/4 inches for the sleeve hems. Then from the front I stitched in a moderate length stitch starting at the back seam for the lower hem and the inside seam for the sleeve hems and just sewed around the circle. I was amazed at how well the stitch embedded itself into the linen--I guess that's another advantage of sewing with linen. Of course, I pressed the lines of stitching from both sides, too.

Pretty fabric! Your workmanship is nice. I was wondering how you made your sleeve and bottom hems so smooth? I cannot tell too well from the photo, but i can't even see any stitches!
