Pattern Description: This is a shopping bag pattern to draw and sew.
Pattern Sizing: Large
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? It is my own pattern.
Were the instructions easy to follow? It is very easy to sew.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This pattern is so simple you can draw it up what ever size you want.
Fabric Used: cotton jaquard in a yellow.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: This is the directions: fold a 64 inch long piece of fabric in half to make it 32 inches. Then fold it in half lengthwise to make it narrow, and draw out a shape like this with the straps about 4 inches wide:folded 2x and cut
Then unfold it 1 x to look like this and cut another of your lining fabric:folded 1X cut
Completely unfolded it should look like this:unfolded
Sew the side seams, right sides together, up to where the straps start and back stitch. Sew the front and back straps together at the top also. Press the seems open. Do the same to the liner and then turn the fabric one right side out and put it in the liner. Sew the bag to the lining on the inside edge of the bag and straps all the way around front and back and turn the bag right side out. Stuff the lining into the bag and fold the outside seam allowances of the straps in and topstitch them together. You are done!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes. I have sewn this smaller for a lunch bag and this size for a shopping bag. The long straps make it so that you and hang it across your body from your shoulder. bag Conclusion: This is a quick bag to make and with double topstitching it makes it a strong bag.
