Fully lined dress or tunic with built-in cap sleeves, empire-waist elastic casing, and keyhole-with-button opening at back. Pattern Sizing:
6 months through size 12 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes. Were the instructions easy to follow?
Awesome instructions and great techniques! What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
There is nothing to dislike about this pattern. The design is modern, cute, and functional for kids and playing.
I really like the neat and logical construction process.
I learned a fantastic method of making a shaped yoke lie perfectly flat. Fabric Used:
Cotton eyelet: main body of the dress
Cotton gingham: contrast sections
Cotton batiste: lining Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I cut the length midway between the tunic length and dress length, then added a 1.25" band in contrast fabric to balance the neckline yoke. Having done that, I decided a 1" bias strip would add just the right touch at the elastic casing. These were my own tweeks to the pattern. Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I already sewed it again in stretch cotton sateen. I'm sure I will sew it yet again! I highly recommend the pattern with no reservations at all. You are bound to get a great result.
