|Pattern Description: Pullover tunic or dress has front extending into back collar, fitted, front pleated bodice, raised waist, tie ends, two-piece sleeves with barrel cuffs, and stitched hem. Fitted, straight-legged pants (below waist) have elastic waist.|
Pattern Sizing: B5(8-10-12-14-16), F5(16-18-20-22-24) I sewed a straight size 18. The only alteration I made was lengthening the skirt by approximately 3 inches. At the new length, the hem hits about 1/2" under the knee. For some context, I'm just over 5'9". Also for context, I usually have to do a pretty significant FBA and it was in no way needed on this pattern.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Pretty much... It may have been the weight of the fabric but the ties didn't wrap and fall quite as I had pictured. Still good though.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, very.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I didn't particularly dislike anything. I love the shape of the collar but I'm not sure that the back sits well on me. I loved that the sleeves were long enough without any alteration and that the bust fits without an FBA. Between the easy, belted fit and the knit material this is a pattern that will suit a lot of figures without significant alteration.
Fabric Used: A plum double knit I picked up from Fabric Mart over a year ago. I have no idea of the fiber content but it's soft, substantial weight, and has a good stretch.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I lengthened the skirt by 3 inches.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I might try this pattern again in a lighter weight knit like a jersey.
Conclusion: This is a super comfy and simple dress that will likely become a standard for those days where you need to dress up for work but anything constricting sounds horrifying.
