|Pattern Description: |
Classic trench coat styled, double breasted jacket with ruffle detail around neck. This jacket is fully-lined with in seam pockets.
Size 3mos to 8 years. I made the size 2 for my 18 month old. The shoulders are a little wide for her yet but she will grow into them. However, I think next time I will make the next size up or make it a little wider as it is quite snug around her middle.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes! It's gorgeous!!!
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. Great instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love all the little details that work to just make this jacket feel so special! Especially the full lining. I LOVE the little ruffle. This was quite bulky in a reasonably heavy corduroy but it still works well.
Hot pink corduroy outer fabric. 100% cotton lining.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
The only change I made was to under-stitch along the pocket sides which has made a really big difference to how they sit. I also under-stitched along the fronts and along the top of the neck.
I ran out of fabric to make a belt which I am disappointed about!
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes! I can't wait to sew this again! This was fun to sew and looks fantastic! I love it. The only thing is since it is fully lined it means setting in 4 teeny tiny little sleeves!!! It did take a bit of time for me to finish this jacket but I am a beginner and it was definitely worth it.
Love this pattern. Can't wait to make it again! Already have the fabric picked out!
