Pattern Description: Long sleeved knit cardi...slightly shaped at the waist but comfortable to wear over something...feature stud at neck or buttons.
Pattern Sizing: Single-sized patterns...I used a 10 which is normal for a cardi or knit jacket for me.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? It does.
Were the instructions easy to follow? They are typical SA instructions. I know how to make a basic cardi so I didn't use them much.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I like that they actually recommended using tape in the shoulder seams. I always like to tape my knit shoulders.
No dislikes. I like this pattern very much.
Fabric Used: I bought this in July from EOS...Italian black and sand zebra print ponte...cotton/viscose/lycra. This is my fave color combo and I actually got it to go with a black/taupe handbag purchased in the Spring. Yes, that is how my mind works. LOL
I used So Fine thread from Superior (worth checking out if you haven't already), and black tricot interfacing from Fashion Sewing Supply.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made no sizing changes...the SA patterns fit me good as is.
I put one snap at the top front.
My topstitching follows the curve of the facing instead of the points of the front edges. I like to conceal the topstitching in the facing edge serging which keeps the inside neat.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Oh yes, I love this pattern. I do recommend it.
Conclusion: This pattern makes a great fitting cardi...not a loose design at all, but still leaves room for a tee or turtleneck underneath. It's perfect for a ponte knit.
