|Pattern Description: Misses' peplum top with neckline and sleeve variations, slim pants, pencil skirt and tie belt.|
Pattern Sizing: US 8 - 18 multi sized pattern.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, apart from my alterations.
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were clear and easy to follow.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the princess seams on the top and the pleated peplum on view C that dips lower on one side at the front. No dislikes.
Fabric Used: I used a brocade purchased from Spotlight, and I lined the bodice with an anti static Italian Lining also purchased from Spotlight.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made View C with some alterations. I used the neckline from View A and I added sleeves from a completely different pattern Vogue 8766. I lined the bodice which was not part of the instructions. I also made the By Hand London Charlotte Skirt to go with this top, as part of a complete outfit. I also made lots of fitting alterations to the top to suit my rectangular figure. Blogged about here
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Now that I have the fit for this bodice worked out, I am sure I will make it again and yes, I do recommend this pattern to others.
Conclusion: New Look 6130 was a great pattern to use to create this outfit for my nephew's wedding. See lots more info and photos on my blog Sew, Jean Margaret
