Pattern Description: Straight skirt with variations.
Pattern Sizing: Misses.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I made the variation with the ungathered flounce. I needed a practical black skirt, but I wanted something with a little extra pizzazz. This skirt is basic and simple, but that flounce makes it kinda sassy.
Fabric Used: Linen blend.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I don't usually use Simplicity patterns and bought the wrong size. I have trouble with that--often the measurements on pattern envelopes don't work for me. I haven't figured that out yet. I really did need a size 16 or 18 in this pattern and bought a pattern that maxes out at 14. I ended up using 3/8" seam allowances, so the skirt fits, but pulls some across the hips. I'm hoping as I wear it the fabric will ease to a better fit.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I definitely recommend it and might sew it again--in the right size.
Conclusion: This is exactly the skirt I wanted. And I'll be exchanging the other Simplicity pattern I bought for the right size.
