|Pattern Description: |
Cardians and tanks. I made view D cardigan and the tank.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The cardigan has flattering shaping at the waist and a flattering v-neck that isn't so steep that it falls off your shoulders or so narrow that it doesn't have a nice slope. You can jazz this up or simply use an interesting fabric. The tank suffers from lack of close-fitting shaping (women look better in close-fitted tanks), but if I made it again, I would size it down at least one size. It makes up quickly. I did the flower petals and leaves -- so fun to make! -- so easy and a definite high-end finish.
A moderately-drapey knit of indeterminate material that I bought for crazy-cheap ($2 a yard). The color doesn't show real well in the photos, but it's a pale pistachio. The fabric has a very subtle raised grid pattern.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I shortened the cardi and tank by about 2 inches. I don't like buttonholes and I wear my cardigans open, anyway, so no buttonholes. I also hate facings (lightweight fusible interfacing, fused by putting a cloth over the fabric then a quick press, and pinked the edges), but did them and glad I did because it gave the drapey fabric stability.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will make another cardigan eventually...I have in mind a lightweight but somewhat stable knit...and I'm going to do the flowers and leaves, and put a bead or two in there!
Very happy with this, the style and fit are universal enough to make one for evening, day, work or with jeans.
