A maternity skirt with ruching along the sides to make place for the belly. Made for stretchy fabrics.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Mostly yes. But the waistband I just didn't get. It was humongous. I guess you're supposed to fold it in under the skirt as support for the tummy, but this didn't work at all with my fabric so I replaced it with a narrow elasticated waistband.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
This skirt looks dressy and is very comfortable. I'm planning to use it as office wear this autumn.
Black viscose jersey.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I replaced the broad waistband/girdle with a narrow (2cm) elasticated waistband.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I'm planning to sew more of these. Definately wardrobe builders.
Sew it! It's a great 1-day fun project.
