|I chose this apron pattern for the curved edge on view B and cute ruffle. I made the small for my daughter.|
I wanted to applique the top, so I made it two pieces instead of one. I moved the dart down, because the dart started in the middle of the applique. I did start the dart on the top piece and made it go through the middle seam into the skirt. I had to make the top edge a bit wider to allow for the appliques.
I wanted this to be reversible, so instead of making the ruffle 4" and hemmed, I made it 8" and folded in half. I used a pretty decorative stitch that looked good on both sides. The bobbin side of the stitch is not exactly the same as the front, but it still looks nice on the apron.
For the straps I made two sets, one for the neck edge and one for the back instead of using the loops.
I added the strip on the waistline for decoration , I just liked the way it looked! I put it on after I sewed the darts to keep it smooth.
It was very simple to make, the instructions are clear and easy to follow.
My daughter LOVES it!
