MISSES' LINED JACKETS AND BELT: Jackets A, B have back princess seams, shawl collar and long sleeves; jacket A has self-belt.
Misses sizes 6 to 20
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes it did but I left out the facings and changed the width of the collar.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes they were.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like that the jacket looks equally well with and without the belt and that the collar falls gracefully in a waterfall effect when worn without the belt.
Ponte Roma knit.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
Since I left out the lining, I new the jacket would be quite roomy and I did a smaller than usual FBA.
I cut a size 10 instead of my usual size 12 and that worked well.
I narrowed the collar by about three inches.
I left out the collar and front facings. That means that the wrong side of the fabric shows . I used a decorative thread in my serger to finish the collar and center front seam, knowing it would be visible.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I would sew this again in a wool or corduroy as it makes for a nice casual jacket.
I wore this jacket and felt elegant and well dressed. I like it a lot.
