|Pattern Description: |
Short wrap coat with princess seams, perfect for between seasons. Has a very wide collar, 3/4 length sleeves that look wonderful with bracelets or long gloves, and fullness at the hem. Coat is fully lined. Closes with one internal and one external button, and includes wide self-fabric tie belt.
0-18 I cut a 10
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Were the instructions easy to follow?
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
It is a nice balanced design, the oversized collar balances the flared hem. I thought I would not like the 3/4 sleeves (I was going to lengthen them) but they also suit the look.
I didn't like the lining attachment order, I had trouble attaching the lining at the coat hem and sleeve hems, I attached it too short at first and it took a lot of pinning to get it to hang right.
Slub weave wool coating and lined in a cotton sateen
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I made none but next time I would attach the lining differently - maybe leave a side seam open in the lining and turn through.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
It's quite distinctive so not immediately but maybe in the future. Highly recommended, I think good for an intermediate sewist, the instructions are nice and clear.
It took me over 2 years to finally finish this coat but I LOVE it, such a great style with a vintage nod, I get lots of compliments wearing it.
