|Pattern Description: Side pleated one shoulder, or with sleeves, day or evening sheath dress.|
Pattern Sizing: 6,8,10,12,14 I made the *gulp* 14 according to my body measurements. I think I need to lay off the Holiday Cheer and get back to my smaller pattern sizes!
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? If you look carefully at the style lines of my dress, yes, it does, but the sequined lace fabric I used hides the pleat details of the pattern somewhat.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes, they were very well written instructions.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the pleated rouching of this pattern, very flattering for the female figure!
Fabric Used: A sequinned lace stretchy stuff I bought at Fabric Depot in Portland, Oregon as well as the tricot underlining I used.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Since there is no lining to this dress, I chose to underline all of my pattern pieces with a stretch tricot as my outer fashion fabric was a tad sheer. I did not make the shoulder strap or flower as I just wanted a clean, one shoulder dress.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I would sew this again if I was looking for another dress with this side pleat detail. I recommend it as well.
Conclusion: I made this dress up in a few days for the Cocktail Dress contest, plus I love the one shoulder style. I have seen this look in many shops and on line for a variation on a cocktail dress. Nice pattern!
