Pattern Description:
Dress with Gathered Rectangle Skirt and Cap Sleeves

Pattern Sizing:
Burdastyle XS-XL

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
I chose to alter the pattern to become my Minnie Mouse Design but I was thoroughly impressed with the pattern pieces to do this.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
The pattern pieces were simple enough that it was easy to follow and go ahead. The BurdaStyle pattern instructions are getting better but not as great as other standard instructions such as Simplicity/Vogue etc. Sometimes they are not ideal for beginners.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I had fun with this pattern. I didn't so much like the sleeves as there were a few other reviews where they said the sleeves sat a bit funny on the shoulder. I decided to remove them and made a puffy sleeve instead.

Fabric Used:
Cotton and Tulle skirt underlay.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I had to reduce the size of the bodice dramatically as it was gaping at the front around my neckline when I made my first muslin. I also removed the small cap sleeves and added puffy sleeves to match the Minnie Mouse design. I also added a tulle underlay so that the skirt way really puffy and fun.

I also added the collar to match the Minnie outfit and then bought some ears and neck bow off good ol ebay!

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I have sewn a couple more of these dresses however just as normal daily wear dresses. I changed the gathered skirt and included a slim pencil type skirt instead. This pattern is a good start to create a number of different types of dresses if you are confident in mix and matching.
