said... Deepika, so sorry that they didn't work for you. I also take a xs/s depending on a knit or woven in these pants. My first pair was in a knit and I had success. Six months later I then tried the zipper version and had to rip out the zipper twice before I got it right. 9/2/02 7:33 PM
said... Deepika, I feel so bad for you! Maybe, as you say, the style is not right for you. But I wear a small in these and you are way smaller than me. The elastic also makes a big difference. But I know how you feel. I made clown pants out of the Burda one seams and have never had the heart to go back to them. 9/2/02 7:35 PM
said... Deepika, the Loes Hinse pants patterns I tried did not work for me either. I always get trouble-free results with Burda/Neue Mode, which have a very different cut. As I mentioned in my reviews, the Loes Hinse pants are drafted like Stretch and Sew, which is also not quite right for my figure. While I could have (extensively) altered the Loes Hinse pants to be more Burda-like, I saw no reason to bother with it. I considered it a learning experience and went back home to Burda:). No pattern company can design clothing that fits every figure, so let's all be glad there is something for everyone. 9/2/02 8:09 PM

said... Deepika, this is so sad. There's nothing worse than spending precious time on a disappointing sewing project. I haven't yet made the zip front version of these pants, but I will definitely err on the smaller side when I do, based on your helpful review. As a point of reference, my hips measure a good solid 38" and I wear an XS in the pullon version, adding just 1/4" to the front inseam. 9/2/02 9:17 PM

I just remade the European pants because I didn't like the way the first pair turned out. I cut the size up to medium as well and it was huge. I did not like the method for putting in the zipper but I liked the style. My change was to eliminate the front zipper and put the zipper on the side. I then lined them so that they no longer have a waistband. I am satisfied with the changes I made although I probably could have purchased the type of pattern I was looking for. 9/6/02 4:12 PM
