Your bag looks very attractive. Thanks for this review. I have looked at this pattern and have wondered how the bag closes. The drawstring is quite a surprise. Does it make the top of the bag bulky?

Great review and photos, Kathleen. This bag is just too cute! I really like the outside flaps that aren't really flaps at all...and then the seperate hidden drawstring to close it [a quick look at the pattern, you'd never guess]. Too bad you weren't able to get it done before the trip/wedding, but it goes with the dress beautifully.

What a cute bag, and it's a very usable size. I think it looks great as is, but some contrast trim would look very nice, too.

Ooohhh, very cute! I think it looks great just the way it is, or maybe with a single white flower from your trim. I hadn't noticed this pattern before, but it's on my wishlist now!

Thankyou everyone! Yes, I didn't fully understand the closure before I got the pattern, so thought the picture might be useful. It doesn't make the top of the bag bulky as the two flaps don't come together of their own accord anyway. I think the bag is approx 4" across. The top of the bag will get wider/further apart if you fill it more.

Your bag is beautiful and would look completely different if you were to trim it.
