Ya know, I had that same interfacing problem with a sheer top I made. I ended up topstitching the facing prettily at the neckline and just trimming the facing away. I liked it much better that way. If yours doesn't show when wearing, it probably doesn't matter.

They are armhole facings, which go around the armhole and finish the armhole part of the garment.
