ALY 1/18/08The pants look great. and your review was really informative, I learn so much by reading how others work through alterations to make a pattern fit them.

clin 1/18/08They look good on you - interesting pattern - thanks for such a helpful review

LindsayT 1/18/08Thanks for the helpful and well-written review, Debbie. I'm in awe of your fitting skills and patience!

CarolynGM 1/18/08Awesome fit. I so admire your perseverance in determining just the right alterations to make. Very informative review.

Seaspur 1/18/08The pants look great on you!

Grammy Gin 1/18/08Thanks for this review...I've been looking at this pattern wanting to sew it. Aren't we all in awe of your skills? ;-)

Seamingly Simple 1/18/08Having recently battled with fitting pants, I feel your pain and share your elation at working through until the wrinkles were gone. Bravo!

Irene Q 1/18/08Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! This pattern is on my must-sew list, so this is incredibly helpful, especially the new alteration (which I need, too). So, you altered all *4* leg pieces, right??
* * *
lilyofthevalley 1/18/08Oh my, these look wonderful on you (as does your top)! Very pretty! Your review is a lesson in itself; how thoughtful of you.

Debbie Cook 1/18/08Irene, yes, all 4. But I taped them together at the vertical seams so I was slashing/moving the pieces 2 at a time. The seamlines fit together very well. The only "wonky" area is at the rear top where the seam curves for a waist dart. But I just taped it so the "dart" was left open. Also, since you're taller than me, I bet the pocket will hit you at a better place. I'll be interested to read your review when you get them made.

bananaoil 1/18/08Congratulations! I have followed your pants fitting quest on your blog and your persistence has been encouraging, thank you. These pants look good.

Elaray 1/18/08These pants are on my "To Sew" list. Thanks for the detailed review

fuzzygalore 1/18/08Ah, thank you, I was wondering about these! Looks like the pockets would hit me right in what you call the fluff.. And pockets not hanging from the waistband might be very difficult. Wonder if they can just be extended to be sewn into the seams on each side?

Leslie in NZ 1/18/08Thank you Debbie. I really appreciate your time and effort in documenting everything. I think you look great!!
* * *
OP Gal 1/18/08Your detailed description of how you solved the dreaded X wrinkle problem wast helpful. The pants look great. I read about how much you like the Minott book, so I checked it out online. (Gasp!) At $56, I think I'll be putting it on my wish list for DH to delight me with next birthday. You are so funny! How do you do that thing with the line though the original thought, editing style, in a review?

Sherril Miller 1/18/08Nice new pattern for you Debbie. I just picked this up at Borders tonight. I was so excited to find it there. These are close to the top of my short list. Thanks for the pocket warning.

SigridNL 1/19/08The pants look great to me, and your review and documenting process very helpful (as always). And your conclusion is so right!
* * *
Linda L 1/19/08As always a most helpful review.

Annette1 1/20/08Your pants are PERFECTION, and they look so nice on you. I gain so much good info from you blogs. I appreciate you taking the time to share them with us. :o)

LauraLo 1/21/08Despite all your reservations, I really like these pants on you! And such a helpful review, thank you!
* * *
cindy-lou 1/22/08Debbie, thanks for this great review! I think these pants look great on you-- and 'it is more important to look good than to feel good, dahling...' so don't let the pocket placement hinder you!

EWP601 1/22/08What a thorough review!!! Thanks for taking the time. It truly is a great lesson on fit. The pants do look so very good on you. Hopefully you will enjoy wearing them more as time goes on.

jjc 1/22/08the pants look very nice on you; it's a good fit and hangs correctly. you did a great job on these.
* * *
Elona 2/8/08As always, a thoughtful, well-illustrated tutorial, Debbie.

Linda G 2/8/08Debbie, you just about have me sold on these pants. If you were so sew them again would you raise the pocket an inch so it is not so low on the hips or have you grown to like that part of them too....I think it would be fun to sew princess seam pants....more tweaking places after they are cut out and tweaking is what I do.....a lot of it. I am SUPPOSEDLY on a self inflicted fabric fast but I think it would be fun to have these out of a medium weight denim, which I would HAVE to buy since there is none in my stash. The older I get the more the elastic waist appeals to me!!! I like comfort.
* * *
Schnauzer 2/8/08Debbie, these pants look really nice on you.
* * *
Debbie Cook 2/8/08Linda G I think I would actually leave the pocket placement as it is. It felt strange at first, but now it seems to be at just the right spot for my hand. And I do use pockets so how/where my hand goes is important. I was thinking of denim for another pair too, although it would totally change the drape. But I'm hoping in a good way.

Annette1 2/8/08GOOD, I'm glad you had a change of heart! They look so nice on you, it would be a shame not to wear them. You're going to convince me to dig out my BWOFs and actually MAKE the stuff in there, if you're not careful!

Karen8320 2/9/08Debbie, I really think these look very flattering on you. I so admire you for the work that you go through in adjusting patterns and your advice is honestly so helpful to the rest of us.

Erica B. 2/10/08Great looking pants Debbie!

Sandic105 3/1/08I have been unable to find this edition of the Burda WOF magazine. I am curious how the pockets are sewn in.

marciae 3/4/08Great review - I made these and felt the same way you did - originally. Maybe I should get them out and wear them. I noticed a line drawing in the March on line issue that looks "exactly" like these. Anxiously awaiting the mag so I can compare. I love reading reviews - they help A LOT!!

blue mooney 3/9/08Debbie, thanks for this and all your other reviews. You are a great teacher! Congrats on the nice pants. I'm really glad that you're liking them better now.
