Karla Kizer 2/14/08PR was started because you were discouraged by blouse patterns (Simplicity, I think), so this project is especially appropriate. Hope it turns out to be perfect - and Happy Birthday!

Deepika 2/14/08Hi Karla, Yes I remember that! I made good progress last night. The only thing left is, sleeves, hems and buttonholes. Yay! Can I complete it today? We'll find out. Thanks for the b'day wishes!
* * *
Karen6790 2/14/08Happy birthday! I can't wait to see the final product. Congrats on getting some sewing time in.
* * *
Patti B 2/14/08Love your comment about sewing slowly being weirdly satisfying! As Cynthia Guffey says "it's your hobby, what's your hurry?"
* * *
Betsybobbin 2/14/08You can tell that you're taking your time--collar and band look perfect!
* * *
Ronda65 2/14/08I love the color. Have you decided on buttons? Some silver or pewter would look really nice! It's coming along nicely.
* * *
Schnauzer 2/14/08Your blouse is taking shape very nicely Deepika! 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' too!
* * *
lilyofthevalley 2/14/08A perfect birthday present to yourself! Gorgeous color linen. -Lily

Deepika 2/15/08Thanks for the b'day wishes everyone! I had a great day yesterday. OK I love this WIP feature. Rhonda I would have never thought of silver or pewter buttons but I think that's exactly what I am going to get. Thanks!!!!

inkstain 2/19/08A lovely spring colour and the silver trim turns it from office to box office. Way to go!
* * *
Leora 2/19/08I recently stood in line behind a woman who was wearing a shirt with this type of cuff. I think it is so attractive and a nice change!
* * *
jsjs 2/19/08Wow, this is lovely!! The silver trim on the sleeves is a wonderful touch.
* * *
Re Becca 2/19/08beautiful! I am sure that you will be able to wear this for a long time and it will be very worth the time you spent on the collar band and the hand sewing.
* * *
Hilary 2/19/08Oh, Deepika, it's *gorgeous* on you! You did a beautiful job on this-and I love the buttons-in fact I have been hoarding those exact buttons in my stash waiting for just the right project, LOL! Now I wish I had this pattern too (who knows, maybe I can find it!). Thanks for the great review! Enjoy your new blouse :o)

lilyofthevalley 2/19/08Deepika, your blouse is pristine. The rolled hems, the perfect collar and sleeve cap, the gentle turquoise w/silver accents - all lend an ethereal quality to this beautifully fitted work of Art. Just beautiful. -Lily

fuzzygalore 2/19/08Oh but Deepeka, good-quality linen improves with washing... Why don't you wash the scraps in the machine a few times, just to see how it behaves? Then you can wash with confidence.. And yes, it's gorgeous :-).
* * *
Cidell 2/19/08Don't you look all saucy and proud of yourself! Cute blouse! Can't wait to see it in LA!
* * *
