Emo, the knit fabric I used was a cotton knit that wasn't too heavy. Since babies have delicate skin, I would stay with soft cotton knits. Cotton also breathes easily which is great for babies. The Sewing For Baby book actually has a section in it about fabric recommendations. It recommends cotton for the most part, but does give other fabric ideas for when baby is older. 4/15/08 11:58 AM
