MaryT 7/29/03Too bad it did not turn out as you would have liked. But, at least it has found a home - hope the next one turns out. Would like to see a pic anyway, the fabric sounds great.

Pam Zufelt 7/29/03The jacket sounds very nice. I like the pattern. Did you purchase the ultrasuede online?

Deepika 7/29/03Skye, I made this jacket too for my husband and I agree with you on the jacket being too big in the abdomen area. Even though I had done tissue fitting also. Can you explain what all alterations you did? I still haven't completed the jacket. I have to hem it and put buttons and buttonholes so I probably wont be making these alterations in this version. Thanks for your review.

AnneM 7/30/03Your neighbor is probably hoping you have the same problem again in the future. :) Thanks for the review; I always like seeing reviews on patterns for men's clothing.

Doris Stewart 11/6/03Just the pattern I've been looking for, thanks. Appreciate your review as well - may eliminate some of the fitting problems my DH may have.

Jay Cadiramen 7/11/04Phew, you sound like you were sick of this pattern from the start... I'm sorry to hear it didn't turn out well. I usually really like Kwik-Sew but have found that you have to measure and size very carefully as they do tend to run a little large. Thanks for the warning!

Dzzzyd 1/24/05Glad to hear it runs alittle large as I will need to enlarge pattern anyway. My husband needs 3-4X. 6'5 at 350 lbs. It's hard to find good patterns that fit. Thanks

dresscode 11/16/05My husband just tried a style which was very similar to this at a high-end "big & tall" store. It was $1000 and made in a black cashmere. I may try this pattern in a nice wool/cashmere blend. I'll have to figure the contrast/lining part out later.

omni9800 12/27/06This is the first piece of clothing I have ever made, but had the benefit of a great teacher so the piece turned out well. Shell fabric is camel wool and contrast lining is wool plaid. Lined the sleeves with silk rather than the wool to expedite entry & exit. Luckily made muslin before I got too far (could see the XL was HUGE). Recut to medium which is OK, but still like you say big in the bread basket. Pattern recommends double topstitching. Did single because on the wool it looked better and made the coat look less casual.
