ETA: I used this pattern again to make a shirt for my 5 year old daughter. I changed the sleeves to end just above the elbow and then added a flared cuff with ribbon trim above it. The ribbon trim is also on the collar. I used size T4 and took in the side/underarm seams 1.5" and added a little waist shaping. More info on my blog.
Pattern Description: Toddlers' shirts have collar with collar stand, yoke, front placket with button closure, and shirt-tail hemline. View A has long sleeves with buttoned cuffs and breast pocket. View B has sort sleeves and breast pocket. View C has western-style yokes, long sleeves with buttoned cuffs, and front pockets with buttoned flaps.
Picture of shirt originally reviewed here.
Pattern Sizing: Toddlers' 1-4. I made T3 for my 2 1/2 year-old son.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes, very much.
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I really like that it has the same details as adult shirts of this style: sewn-on front placket, separate collar stand, sleeve placket. It is basically an adult shirt in miniature. The pieces are all scaled down proprotionally. I have found other patterns of this style have awkward collars and sleeve cuffs, but not this pattern. I also really like the 1/4" seam allowances - much less bulk for turning the small collar and stand and cuffs.
Fabric Used: cotton shirting - blue and white stripes
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: none
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I have sewn this several times already and probably will make several more. I would highly recommend it.
Conclusion: A great pattern!
