Thanks for pointing out the virtues of the side strip! These look great.

These are just AWESOME jeans. They look SO nice on you. OF COURSE, every detail is PERFECT. I know Christas also uses upholstery thread for her topstitching, which is a great idea. I LOVE the idea of the side "stripe," because I almost always have to straighten out the hip curve on pants, and this would certainly eliminate hat problem.

Your pants are terrific. What a great way to start off the New Year! If one were to make these pants with non stretchy material, would the stripes have to be on the bias? I am guessing that the bias helps one walk and sit. Any thoughts?

These are really beautiful. They look like a very, very expensive pair of rtw jeans. Thanks for the detailed information on the side "stripe", like you I have two sizes difference in the same area, must try this (and check whether I have this issue).

Now these are fantastic!! I like this pair better because of the pockets. Beautiful topstitching!! And thanks for this hint on the side stripe - I keep it in mind for trying out.

Beautiful work always, Kay. Leave it to BWOF to come up with that "stripe" detail/fitting help..especially helpful when making close fitting jeans. And this is exactly why I save my BWOF issues..you never know when something wonderful from a few years ago is featured. Congratulations on reaching the milestone of 100 reviews..you are such a favorite of mine!

I agree with Sigrid - these look expensive. Isn't is Project Runway where they say that? Anyway, totally awesome jeans, the strip is a terrific idea - plus your tip on how to accomplish it. Congrats on your 100th review!

These are amazing. I definitely need to search out this issue as I am on a jeans mission. I can definitely see why you've made a few pair of these - they look RTW, but they have that "made for you" comfort. Beautiful.

Kay, your jeans are so wonderful! All versions are fantastic. I especially love the black capris from a while back. I think I bought that issue because of your review. I still need to make them! I also love upholstery thread for topstitching. It comes in more colors and seems the machine can handle it a little better than topstitching thread.

Great jeans! And what a wonderful idea to set up the Featherweight (which I have as well) just for top stitching.

Nice jeans. I, too, have made back pockets larger than the pattern dictates. I think that larger pockets make one's rear look smaller. It's a proportional thing, I guess! :0)

Great jeans! I really love that side stripe. I have a high rounded hip and often have trouble with the upper side seam looking lumpy too. I'll have to try this side seam. I do have the pattern though, so I may just dig it out and us it. Great review

Great job -- you have great fit and a beautiful job of all the finishing touches. I might have to try that side strip when I finally get the courage to sew pants for myself.
