| Mirza | 2/4/09 | I agree, french seams are a bit much. You could cut out two and use one for the lining. It would be so much quicker and give the bag extra strength. Great job on the bags!

| DreinPA | 2/4/09 | I have just made about 10 bags using a similar pattern: a Target bag whacked in half (they use a thicker less slippery plastic than Wal-Mart...). Serged sides and handles, then joined, but did use the french seam for strength in the bottom, and narrow double fold bias for the binding. It is the bias tape that is the time killer; it still takes almost an hour per. Used home dec so no lining (and it would have made self-banding near impossible) . I found using the fabric if you lengthen the straps and bag, and cut the opening slightly wider at the center handle base (rather than U-shaped) you get a better bag. Keep at it!! You will find the more you use them, the more you would rather have your fabrics bags than plastic junk! |

| Renren | 2/4/09 | The fabric is beautiful and fun. These bags will lift spirits (yours and anyone seeing them)! I agree on french seams being overkill and also on the impracticality of folding a bag into its self-contained storage pocket. However, a small pocket for say a driver's license and method of payment (credit card, debit card, check, cash) would be very useful! Ha, I believe I will make a bag now that your review has informed me so well. Thanks! |

| katlew03 | 2/4/09 | I like the concept of the fabric bags -- just don't think this particular pattern is the one to use for simple grocery bags. I have several other patterns that would make up quicker and easier. I was very happy with the final product, just not the time it took to complete. |

| Dale C | 2/4/09 | I've been meaning to make some grocery bags too, and this LOOKS like a simple pattern. But 2 hours per bag? That's a bit much. I do like the way yours came out though, and probably will get to making some of my own soon. |

| fourkid | 2/5/09 | Very pretty - I like the bias edging, but it does look time consuming.

| ClaireF in CA | 10/1/09 | I've been wanting to make a grocery bag, so I thought I'd check out your review of this pattern. Your bags turned out so cute! Thanks for this review and your conclusion that this was not quick to make - I'll check out the "big 4" first! |
